A new favourite...

New CID i-Flick Double Ended Eyeliner*
I don't know about you but I've been looking for the perfect liquid eyeliner for so long... I must have tried a hundred but this is my favourite so far!



The reason I love this so much is the pen has a brush instead of a bloody felt tip. I really hate felt tip ends on eyeliner pens; they're either too firm and stabby or too soft and therefore not very precise! The brush make applying this so easy and the lasting power is amazing. I don't have much to say about the kohl end of this eyeliner as I hardly ever wear it but I've swatched it a few times and it seems lovely!

Enrapture Encode Totem Styler

I squealed a little when the lovely people at Enrapture offered to send me an Encode Totem Styler to review. I thought the idea was genius! The barrel has three different sections that all have their own heat settings (1, 2 or 3) so you can create so many different waves with the one styler.



Honestly this is the best thing I've ever used to curl my hair. I love it so much! I've tried to create the same waves in the pictures above for years and have finally found the perfect way! I use the setting 3-3-3 and wrap my hair around the barrel starting at the root (like a curling wand) and then I used the little clippy bit (I don't know the technical term, haha) to help curl the ends under. When I've curled all of my hair I brush it out and voila! Perfect waves!



I want to try different heat setting but I just love this combination so much and I haven't felt the need to try any others yet! Even with all the sections on the same heat like a normal curling iron there really is something special about this thing. When I get more adventurous with the different setting I'll be sure to update!

Lush Cupcake Face Mask

I've always been eager to try Lush's face masks but for some reason I've never actually bought one! I decided to give one a go last time I was there and um'ed and ah'd over which one to get for ages. I ended up settling with the one that smelt the best... cupcake! luckily this was designed for "oily teenage skin" which is pretty much what I have. I think my skin is best described as a big ol' mess...

Obviously this smells incredible (like minty-chocolate, I resisted the urge to taste it this time...) so I end up sitting with it on my face for ages; sometimes even hours! It tingles ever so slightly which is good because it feels like it's "doing" something. I hate masks that just sit there but I also hate the ones that tingle far too much so this is a perfect!

The only downside is it's a huge mess to remove... I found the best way to remove it is to wait until it's dry and gently rub it off so it flakes away. My face feels so soft and calm after I use this so I'll defiantly pick another up next time I visit a Lush store! I'd love to try another one so if you guys have any recommendations please tell me!

Milk_Shake Volume Solution Shampoo & Conditioner

 I had high hopes for this and I'm not sure why; I think it was the packaging (and the pretty steep price)! As with most volumising shampoo this claims to give volume to normal fine hair.

The shampoo is quite thick and takes about 3 washes to really lather up which is pretty irritating for someone with long hair! The conditioner is actually a leave in one which you apply to towel dried hair (good job I quickly read the label before putting it on in the shower!). I thought this was going to be a disaster but it left my hair soft and clean and didn't weigh it down or leave it greasy.

 I didn't really notice a difference in volume with my hair while using this which was a disappointment as I really thought for the price it would be something special. Nevermind eh!

I don't want to be too negative about this so I will say one thing: My Mum used this one day on her short fine hair and it went huge! You could really see a difference in it. If you have shorter fine hair I would really recommend it, but on longer hair I don't think it made much difference and you can get much better results with something a lot cheaper!

11/06/12; Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrup

HELP ME. I'm addicted to this. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and now I can't put it down. You've probably all heard about it before but this is basically just a sugar scrub for your lips. The reason I love it so much is that it tastes like heaven.

I don't go into Lush regularly but every time I go I end up standing next to the pile of Melting Marshmallow Bath Melts, dying a little because they smell SO GOOD. Whenever I buy one I even end up stupidly licking it a tiny bit. I can't resist. o_O Obviously it tastes gross and nothing like the smell...

 Anyway to the point. This lip scrub tastes exactly like the Marshmallow bath melt smells. Ahhh! Why didn't I know this?! I've been applying it non-stop just for this reason; the softer lips are just a bonus. (Maybe I "accidentally" ate some of it a few times too...)

 ps: Just googled and found out Snow Fairy shower gel and The Godmother Soap have the same scent... brb.

Haircare Favourites: Part 3- Tools.

Babyliss Powerlite Hairdryer*:
 I've needed a new hairdryer for years. I bought my old one simply for the fact I liked the lights on the side about 8 years ago and it really had seen better days (see it here). It still worked but it was on it's last legs! when Hairtrade offered me a chance to review something this was the first thing I thought of because I really needed a new one! I love that it looks all sleek and professional and it dries my hair so much faster than my old one. It's a lot lighter and it makes such a softer sound than any other hairdryer I've heard before; It's more of a "hooooooo" than a "WEEEE!!" (Yep, I just wrote that..) I think it's a bargain! The only problem I have with it is the cool button: It's in a bit of an awkward place and I find myself pressing it by accident a lot!

Tangle Teezer.
I never got the fuss with this because I couldn't see how it would be any different to a normal brush or comb (minus the shape). I was so wrong! I picked this up with a boots voucher I had left over from Christmas a few months ago and haven't even used my old brush since. Honestly it's incredible! I have no idea how it de-tangles my crazy hair but it does... I used to spend so long trying to get knots out of my hair and this thing just brushes them out straight away. IT'S AMAZING. I'm even tempted to buy the cats one...

Haircare Favourites: Part 2- Styling Products.

A couple of months ago I hardly ever used any styling products.. maybe a little bit of hairspray but that was all! Now I'm kind of addicted...

John Frieda Full Repair Heat Activated Styling Spray*
I love this because it does so many things at once. I used it to de-tangle and heat protect my hair before drying and it helps hold my hair in place after drying without feeling sticky or gross. All that in a few sprays!

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Mousse*
This is great for adding volume to my hair and is simply my favourite mousse because once again it doesn't leave my hair feeling weighed down or sticky after I use it. (Kudos John Frieda).

John Frieda Full Repair Perfect Ends Deep Infusion*
I'm guessing this is their take on the hair oil craze that's been happening lately. This is most definitely my favourite thing from the Full Repair range. One pump of this leaves the ends of my hair so smooth and shiny it literally makes me stop in my tracks and admire it. I mean flick-my-hair-around-in-front-of-a-mirror-like-a-freak admire it. If the ends of your hair are looking a bit worse for wear BUY THIS. Seriously.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Anytime Volume Refresher Spray. (What a mouthful!)
I always thought Batiste was the king of dry shampoo and didn't bother trying any other til I was sent this a couple of months ago. Oh how wrong I was... I couldn't believe how soft my hair felt after using this. I was used to it feeling awful and powdery but looking clean (thanks Batiste) but this leaves my hair so soft it feels like it's just been washed. When the can I was sent ran out I was really put off by the price (around £5-£6) and thought I'd try Tresemme's dry shampoo but I couldn't bear the powdery feeling it left in my hair and ended up buying three cans of JF's Volume Refresher spray a couple of days later. It is really that good.

Aussie Dual Personality Hi-Hold Hi-Shine Hairspray*
I don't have much to say about this, it's just a really good hairspray. It holds my hair in place amazingly but it still moves around as normal instead of looking and feeling like I've just sprayed it down with cement, yay!

Since posting my halo plait post a while back I've been lucky enough to receive a few hair related things as gifts or for review so I thought I'd post my current favourites in a little 'series' of hair related posts! Please note that the fact I was sent some of these products isn't going to change my own opinion on them and I will be completely honest!

Haircare Favourites: Part 1- Shampoo + Conditioner.

First of all I used to be quite lazy with my hair. I'd wash and condition it with the really old Herbal Essences range (the only one my Mum wouldn't moan about...) and that was all! I've really enjoyed trying new things and realising how much difference certain products make!
  Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo* + John Frieda Luxurious Volume conditioner*
 These two work a treat to just give my hair a good wash. I tend to leave my hair a bit too long in between washing (gross) because it feels like such a chore...I love having long hair but sometimes it's a pain to clean! These leave my hair squeaky clean, soft and not at all weighed down. Plus the Aussie shampoo smells incredible!

John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo & Conditioner* + Deep Conditioner*
While I was excited to try these I wasn't sure they'd work for me. The range is designed for damaged hair but I was told it works great for dry ends which is something I suffer from! The first time I used the shampoo and conditioner I used far too much and my hair felt greasy and gross after about 6 hours. I just thought these products weren't really for me as my hair's in fairly good condition (bar the ends..). I decided to give it another go about a week later and used much less product and the difference was incredible! My hair was so shiny! It's never been shiny! I must have stood in a mirror for at lest 5 minutes flicking my hair around admiring the shine...Ha! The Deep Conditioner is is great for giving the ends of my hair a bit of extra moisture when they're looking dry and awful! I like to use these once a week just to give my hair a bit of TLC; I've found my hair gets greasy quite quickly if I use them regularly.

All of the John Frieda Full Repair range smells gorgeous, but they're all driving me insane because the smell is so familiar but I can't figure out what it reminds me of! At first, while reading The Sunday Girl, I saw she mentioned it smelled of Hugo Deep Red which made me run (literally) to the nearest bottle to check. After shouting "YESSSS" (and getting weird looks from my Mother) I was sure that was what it smelled of but a few days later in Debenhams I decided to smell Deep Red to check and it wasn't as similar as I though! I had some sort of epiphany about a week ago in the shower that screamed to me IMPULSE BODY SPRAY!!1 (Which reminds me of being 15..) but I'm still not 100%! This has been driving me round the bend. If anyone can put their finger on the smell please, please tell me...

Nails!

I've been thinking this up for a while. I had so many people commenting on my nails when I had done them, so I thought up an idea of painting false ones to sell! I was all set until I realised a few other people had done it which put me off quite a bit...
Anyway a couple of months past and I left thee idea in the back of my mind until someone left me a lovely little question on formspring saying I should do it! So I decided I would...

I've just kept it simple for this little "trial run" so there will only be 6 different designs to start with:
Top row L-R: Floral 1, Floral 2, Aztec. Bottom Row: Space, Leopard, Glitter Gradient.

Unfortunately since this is just a trial there is no nail glue included. It's very easy to find in shops so I'm hoping it wont be a problem for now!

25/01/12; Jumper.

Jumper: Vintage. Jeans: Cheap Monday.
Can I wear these jeans everyday...? I think they're perfect. This is a pretty boring outfit but it's something I wear a lot because the jumper is so comfortable! I haven't really done much today apart from job applications and taking parcels to the post office... pretty sure the guy that works there hates me for sending so many parcels, haha.

I haven't painted my nails properly for ages so I decided to try the whole aztec pattern on them! Would have been a lot easier to do if my Models Own nail pen's brush hadn't fell off in the middle of painting them... trying to draw straight lines with a tiny nib with your wrong hand= hard. I think they came out okay anyway!

18/01/12; The Halo Plait.

I'm usually hesitant when companies email me asking to post their pictures, videos etc on my blog. In fact I've never done it. It just seems a little impersonal to me! This one felt different though... The lovely people at John Frieda asked me to post and try out one of their new 'Style on Demand' videos which show you how to recreate different hairstyles yourself.  I've always love the halo plait or milkmaid braid or whatever you want to call it; I used to try it a lot a few years ago, but my hair was too short and it never worked! I thought I'd give it another go now with the help of the John Frieda video and much longer hair...

There's no way my fringe was going into this plait. I look ridiculous with it pulled off my face...
  Well this picture was a bit of a challenge. I found the front the hardest and most fiddly because I was trying to avoid plaiting my fringe into it all! This resulted in me missing a bit near my ear, oops. :-( 
  Almost finished... 
  Then after I pinned the bottom of the plait around my head it was done! 
  Ta-da!

I found a little flowery headband that fit perfectly on top of the plait and it kept it in place quite well too...

This took three attempts, the plait was the easiest part, it was the hair at the front that kept messing it up! The first and second time the plait came out perfect but I'd left too much or too little hair out at the front. The third time the plait messed up at the front (you can see in the first and last few pictures!) but it sat perfectly and my fringe looked okay so that one was the one that stayed. I'll give it another go soon; practice makes perfect! Now here's the video so you can try it yourselves, enjoy!

First of all I want to apologise for not blogging for about 2 weeks! My Macbook charger decided to actually set on fire (omg) so I didn't have any way of posting. Sorry!
Love sent me this dress last week! I have pretty much worn it all of the time, It really is so, so nice. I also had the postman drop off a parcel from Romwe this morning with this bag inside. Let's face it, I will never be able to afford a PS1 (and would never pay £1500+ for a bag anyway...) so when I saw this I knew I had to have it!

 In other news today is my birthday! I haven't really done anything to be honest, I'm just going to go to Robbie's house after he's finished work and eat chicken, haha. I got a lovely gift box from Lush from Robbie's sister Jodie (thank you!) and a couple of things for baking from my Mum's cousin. (or whatever relation that makes her to me,haha) which were nice. I wasn't expecting anything so I was chuffed, haha.
